Disney Cruise Line hosted a grand reveal for its newest ship, the Disney Treasure earlier this week. The internet is full of artist renderings of the future vessel. While the "It's a Small World Nursery" can be found on all DCL ships, there are not many themed spaces reminiscent of the parks found on the cruise line.
Fortunately for Disney Parks fans, the Treasure will feature lots for those who love Disneyland and Disney World.
Periscope Pub will be themed after Walt Disney’s 1954 film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". Its namesake Disney Parks attraction was open at Walt Disney World from 1971 to 1994. The Disney World attraction was a re-theming of the Disneyland attraction "Submarine Voyage".
The Skipper Society will be a lounge spaced themed after Disney's beloved Jungle Cruise Attraction. The grand reveal video suggests it will offer waffles in addition to exotic drinks. It is sure to be one of DCL's "boulder" attractions but some may take it for "granite". (I couldn't resist).
Prior to the grand reveal, Disney Treasure marketing material suggested that there will be a Haunted Mansion themed space. The grand reveal did not mention anything about the Haunted Mansion but some speculate that a space may be coming to the Treasure in lieu of the Hyperspace Lounge. That sounds awesome.
While most of us will never experience it, the Tower Suite on the Treasure will be Epcot themed.
Finally, the re-theming of the Aquamouse for the Treasure will feature "The Curse of the Golden Egg." Mickey and friends will journey through a mysterious temple full of booby traps while looking for treasure. Sound anything like the Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland?
As a Disney Parks fan, I am excited to sail the Disney Treasure as soon as possible.
